團隊簡介與隊名由來:

Our team is called Signal Detectors because science is all about discovering the hidden signals behind complex biological processes, and we are both pleased throughout the process. In our experiment, we investigate how cells respond to different glucose concentrations under lipid toxicity by measuring changes in light intensity. These changes act like signals that reveal how yeast cells grow, struggle, or adapt in stressful conditions that mimic aspects of diabetes.

參賽原因與心得:

During the process of preparing for this competition, our team encountered several obstacles. One challenge was ensuring that our experimental setup remained consistent, especially when preparing different glucose concentrations and maintaining constant exposure to palmitic acid. We repeated the experiment multiple times to increase reliability and carefully reviewed scientific literature to strengthen our understanding of lipid toxicity and glucose metabolism. As the competition approached, we also practiced our presentation many times, helping each other improve clarity, confidence, and timing. Through these preparations, we not only strengthened our experiment but also developed teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, making us more confident and ready for the competition.

隊伍自評:

優勢:

研究推導邏輯清晰,並得出有價值的結論。
One of the main strengths of our team is our confidence in both our experiment and our presentation skills. Throughout the preparation process, we worked hard to understand the scientific concepts behind our research, which allows us to explain our experiment clearly and confidently. In addition, our team members are comfortable speaking in front of an audience, which helps us present our ideas with enthusiasm and clarity.

劣勢:

研究還有更多發展的面向尚未討論,且未完全驗證,如是否為植物激素誘導的部分。
However, our research also has some limitations. Due to time and resource constraints, we were only able to test a limited number of glucose concentrations and repeats.
